I’m giving a really late review. But so what? Well, I went to ‘Trader Vic’s Mai Tai’ launch party earlier this December at Phoenix Mills in Lower Parel. You can find this awesome place right opposite the PVR Cinema Box office. Yes I know not a good location. But now it’s there so shhh!
If you’re looking for something to tickle your taste buds, an extraordinary fare awaits you. Mai Tai is a Tiki-culture inspired lounge offering an elaborate range of world famous delicacies, exotic concoctions and an exceptional modish décor. Palm trees, warm colors and awesome music will warm you up on the chilliest of evenings. It feels like you’re surrounded by a classy tropical setting. The staff is cordial, friendly and dedicated. They make sure each guest is greeted and looked forward to in a special way.
Trader Vic’s Mai Tai Lounge is unlike the other awesome hangouts in a busy Mumbai. The ambience is good for mini corporate lunches or a reunion gathering. What is really nice about the place is that they serve drinks in Trader Vic’s signature brand mugs and glassware. They’re too cute to let go off when you’re done with sipping your drink. It’s a great place to hang out.
As for the food & drinks, we started with Maui Waui Shrimps, served with an aromatic dipping sauce. The shrimps were marinated in a sweet and tangy sauce and were cooked to perfection. The Mai Tai Crispy Chicken was delicious crispy and goes well with any drink. Oh you must definitely try out their Trader Vic’s burgers /sliders, I’m unsure about the exact name. They are totally delectable and satisfying and make a great accompaniment with the Tiki Puka Puka.
This is a must try if you’re at Mai Tai or any Tiki-culture lounge anywhere in the world. It’s a delicate fusion of three different types of rum, orange juice, grenadine & spices. The Mai Tai Mocktails are absolutely refreshing and served in a cute coconut-like mug. The other drink that I tried was Samoan Fog Gutter. It’s served in a tall vase, filled with rum, gin, brandy and sherry wine with orange juice orgeat. I quite liked the way the drinks are presented. It gives a very island-like feel. So set your mood for a rocking island party 🙂
After a heavy lunch, we were offered with Chocolate Nut Tikis as recommended by one of the stewards. Trust me, I delightfully loved the stickiness and really loved the fact that it was so light and yummy. It sure is a hit!
